TVDW 19/06/2022 - Bert Kaempfert - Living it Up (1963)

 

En dan was het weer plots voorbij. Een voorbereiding die onnodig lang was (en onnodig diepgaand) en een publiek dat - wegens de hoge temperaturen - nogal klein uitviel, maar toch maar toch. De dj-set die ik mocht spelen in het Antwerps café Djingel Djangel was voor mij persoonlijk toch een groot plezier. Gewoon plaatjes draaien - meer niet eigenlijk. Tussen 18u en 01u - dus lekker veel tijd om keuzes te maken. De lijstjesman in mij kon het niet nalaten om de tracklisting bij te houden. Ik voeg 'm hier maar toe, eerder als een soort persoonlijke documentatie. Het ging van samba naar R&B en funk en disco, wat reggae, streepje lounge en cocktail, wat new wave. De tvdw was gewoon een fijn momentje tussendoor; het valt me op dat die Kaempfert songs in zowat om het even welke mix een leuk, groovy intermezzo kunnen vormen. Werkt haast altijd.
